IMM Sea Taxi Frequently Asked Questions

IMM Sea Taxis are serving only in Istanbul, they cannot be used outside Istanbul.

IMM Sea Taxis can serve between the piers and berthing points determined within the scope of the Sea Taxi Transportation Directive published by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Public Transportation Services Directorate. You can see all departure and arrival points via IMM Sea Taxi application.

IMM Sea Taxis’  passenger capacity is 10 people.

You can get on IMM Sea Taxis either alone or up to 10 people in total.

You can book only via IMM Sea Taxi application.

Yes, you can use IMM Sea Taxis at any hour you wish, on 7 days & 24 hours basis by booking in advance.

Yes. You can make booking via the application if there is available Sea Taxi on the day, at the hour and departure-arrival points you will select. You can make bookings up to a maximum of 5 days in advance.

In case your reservation is for a time an hour when the pier is open in daytime, the pier officer will guide you if your show him/her your booking from the “Bookings” page of the application.
If your booking is for a tiem an hour when the pier is closed at nighttime, please wait at the pier until your booking hour. When IMM Sea Taxi comes to the pier, Sea Taxi personnel will guide you from pier to boat.

No. Since IMM Sea Taxis work through booking, the Sea Taxi you are using will be assigned for another booking after your travel, therefore route change cannot be made.

Fare schedule of IMM Sea Taxis has been determined by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Transportation Coordination Center (UKOME). On IMM Sea Taxis, there is a fixed opening fare as per the taximeter model, and fare per mile is added after a certain number of miles is exceeded.
According to the decision taken, IMM Sea Taxi fare schedule is as follows: 

• TL 210 opening fare including 1 mile, 
• TL 155 per mile for 1-4 mile(s) (including 4 miles), 
• TL 125 per mile for 4-8 miles (including 8 miles), 
• TL 100 per mile after 8 miles.

You can make your payment with your credit card or debit card which is defined you will identify into the IMM Sea Taxi application. 

Payment is made only with credit card or debit card on IMM Sea Taxis, cash payment is not accepted.made. 

Yes, you can cancel your travel from the “Bookings” page on IMM Sea Taxi application.
 
If you cancel your booking:

• Until 24 hours before the beginning of the travel, the entire travel fare is refunded,
• Within 24 hours before the beginning of the travel, 50% of the travel fare is refunded,
• No fare refund is made in the cancellations made within the last 1 hour.

The amount is refunded in full in the cancellations made within the first 5 minutes of the booking.

No. Fare schedule of IMM Sea Taxis has been determined by the Transportation Coordination Directorate (UKOME) and charging is made according to the distance. IMM Sea Taxis are not charged according to the number of people.

No. Passenger capacity of IMM Sea Taxis is 10 people. Passengers beyond the capacity are not taken for life safety of our passengers.

No. You can use the IMM Sea Taxis according to the route (departure and arrival points) you will select at the beginning of your travel. 

Yes. Our IMM Sea Taxis were designed to serve all our passengers with the feature of berthing from the bow and obstacle-free hull design. Our passengers with wheelchair and pushchair can embark conveniently and travel safely.

No. Dispenser is not available inside IMM Sea Taxis.

There is a crew of 2 persons on IMM Sea Taxis, being 1 captain and 1 seaman.mariner.

No. You need to be inside the Sea Taxi during your travel for your life safety.

All tests of our Sea Taxis such as engine, speed, stabilitybalance, wind measurement, crash stopping manoeuvres maneuver carried out according to International Maritime Regulations. have been performed, and all the necessary measures have been taken safety of life and property at sea.for life and property safety of our passengers. There are life jackets underneath the passenger seats in case of emergency.for use in emergencies. Also, our Sea Taxis are monitored by camera systems for ensuring the security.

No, its forbidden to smoke on IMM Sea Taxi. In such case, an administrative fine is applied as per the Law No. 4207.

12    Everyone who is older than ... years can use IMM Sea Taxi alone.

Sea Taxis wait for their passengers up to  who are late for 5 minutes after the booking hour. 

It is the use of the IMM Sea Taxi by different persons simultaneously on the same route and at the same time by booking via the IMM Sea Taxi application.

Via the IMM Sea Taxi application, you can open your travel to sharing by selecting “Shared” from the options “Single” or “Shared” after selecting route, date and time.

“Guarantor” is the person who initiates the shared travel for a route, date and time during the booking. The Guarantor pays the entire travel fare in case another passenger does not attend the shared travel initiated by him/her.

The person who attends the shared travel initiated by the Guarantor for a route, date and time. The attendant bears the fare of the travel he/she attends at the rate of 1/10. 

During the booking, the entire travel fare is collected from the Guarantor’s account. He/she pays the entire travel fare in case another passenger does not attend the shared travel until the departure time. 
The attendant pays 1/10 of the total travel fare in case he/she attends the shared travel alone. In case he/she attends the shared travel with more than one person, he/she pays an amount that equals to the number of attending persons x 1/10 of the fare. These fares collected from the attendants are transferred to the Guarantor’s account at the end of the travel.

The Guarantor may not cancel his/her booking in case another attendant comes to the shared travel.
In case no attendant comes to the travel, the IMM Sea Taxi cancellation and fare refund requirements specified in Article 13 apply to the Guarantor.
The IMM Sea Taxi cancellation and fare refund requirements specified in Article 13 apply to the attendant in any case.

Yes, via IMMBB Sea Taxi application, after selecting route, date and time, you can display a travel opened to sharing before when you get to the “Shared” travel option page.

No, you can open a new travel to Sharing even if there is a Shared travel generated previously. 

No. Under the Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL), passenger information is not shared.
